White-DeVries Rowing Center

When it opened in October 2012, the White-DeVries Rowing Center ushered in a new era in men’s and women’s rowing at Culver. The two-story, 24,000-square-foot facility is all-inclusive, featuring the first two indoor riding tanks (48-foot with eight rowing stations) in Indiana, an ergometer-equipped workout room, a general exercise room, and storage for 40-plus shells and 160 oars.

In addition, a spacious alumni lounge and deck overlook Lake Maxinkuckee, providing an excellent vantage point for spectators in addition to an exceptional location for formal dinners, alumni parties, and other gatherings.

The building is named in honor of Miles White ’73 and George T. DeVries III ’77, who were the major donors and who both rowed at the Academies.
